Job Purpose

We are looking for a reliable, motivated Warehouse Operative to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to meet customer demand and business targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Locating and recording product movement within the warehouse
  • Maintaining a high level of care and accuracy within all operations
  • Being able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Adhering to Quality control requirements
  • Loading and unloading vehicles in a safe manner
  • Ensuring all daily check sheets and paperwork are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with inventory counting when required
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, including in the surrounding yard
  • Maintaining high levels of safety awareness and raising safety observations where necessary
  • ¬†Being able to listen and follow instructions in order to achieve targets correctly and safely
  • Being able to work as part of a team while also using your own initiative
  • Supporting the Warehouse Team Leaders and Supervisors with day-to-day tasks when required
  • Showing diligence with regards to timekeeping, attendance, and general commitment to the basic objectives of the Company.

Please note that some flexibility may be required within this role. Overtime hours, or occasionally working outside of normal hours, may be requested if the business experiences higher volumes of work. Overtime duties may extend beyond the normal  responsibilities of your role, but training and monitoring will be provided in that instance.

Education / Experience

  • We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who will pay attention to detail, and be able to problem-solve.
  • There are no key qualifications required for this role, however you should have good basic Numeracy and Literacy skills.
  • Some basic IT knowledge would be beneficial, particularly in Microsoft packages, and knowledge of an in-house computer stock system would be desirable (but certainly not essential).
  • General Warehouse Experience and an awareness of manual handling requirements would be desirable.
