Increase survival rates by up to 74%

If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of collapse, survival rates increase to over 50% and up to 74%.  The chance of surviving reduces by 10% for every minute of delay.

Public Access Defibrillators are AEDs which are used by members of the public and located in public buildings, businesses and even held externally in wall cabinets.

The machine will not shock someone who is not in need of a shock, so there is no need to worry about harming the patient and as time is crucial to survival, it is important not to wait for the ambulance to arrive.

CHAIN OF SURVIVAL

Accessing PAD – Public Access Defibrillators

Whilst most out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the home, it’s not practical for every home to have one. But, with local access to a PAD, even home-based victims can improve their chances of survival if there is a person present who is able to obtain a local AED.

Improving public access to Defibrillators will benefit everyone, particularly those in high-occurrence, low-survival areas.

If you are a school, community group or local business who would like to invest in a defibrillator for your community, please visit our PracticeCare defibrillators page or contact us where we will be happy to help you.
