Job Purpose

To manage a portfolio of FG Items and firm production plans using AX2012 planning system, ensuring all criteria driving MRP and capacity planning are correct. Working with Customer Services, Sales, Supply Chain and Production to ensure target stock levels and stock availability are maintained to the businesses agreed levels and customer requirements. To collaborate in resolving any issues affecting stock availability.

To anticipate and respond to changes in demand through key data analysis whilst also balancing production efficiency & capacity with FG inventory KPIs. Ensuring Demand Planning KPI’s are achieved. Managing FG planning life cycle, to reduce, and negate future FG slow-moving and obsolete stock. Undertaking various planning related business projects as required.

Key Responsibilities

· To manage a portfolio of FG items, to maintain agreed stock levels, and identify risks in FG stock availability, communicate to Demand Planning Lead and all stakeholders and mitigate.

· To take full responsibility for planning production of allocated FG portfolio, firming and communicating production plans, and fully utilising AX planning system functionality.

· Working with Demand Planning Lead to identify and agree planning criteria and stock holding policies. Analysing and responding to variances in sales Vs. forecasts.

· To liaise closely with the supply chain dept. to ensure sufficient raw material stock is available to meet the plan and future requirements.

· Eliminate slow moving and obsolete FG stock and ensure through planning process and collaboration with warehousing, production, customer services and sales future slow moving / obsolete stocks are avoided.

· Manage where applicable the CTO, New Business and 2030 process.

· To continually anticipate and communicate to all stake-holders, issues affecting stock availability & plans, including component shortages, changes to production capacity, and sales fluctuations. To work in collaboration to resolve any issues and maintain stock levels.

· In collaboration with Demand Planning Lead identify and liaise with production regarding

current and future capacity requirements

· To ensure that all planning criteria and demand planning tasks in AX are frequently reviewed and updated in a timely manner.

· Understand all Demand Planning Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) including OTIF and data flows and be able to interrogate data to support improvement

· To anticipate and respond to changes in demand through key data analysis whilst also balancing production efficiency & capacity with FG inventory KPIs

· To ensure the AX2012 planning system and processes are operating optimally and fully integrated with processes throughout the business.

· Continuous improvement and development of existing tools and planning processes to support more efficient processes within demand planning operations.

· Building relationships and communication channels within Demand Planning and with the wider business. Ensuring all key stakeholders are aware of the implementation of demand planning process and data changes and the implementation effects on stakeholder departments.

· To support customer services and sales in new business and obsolescence management

· To response quickly and efficiently to all stakeholder queries and provide key data and information to demand planning manager and wider business as requested.

· Any other Demand Planning related tasks as required / Project work as required.

· To ensure objectives / project set by demand planning manager are fully completed and to schedule.

Education / Experience

Essential;

· Advanced Excel skills.

· Have extensive knowledge/experience of inventory management processes, ERP/MRP and planning systems.

· Be proactive and continually work to improve processes and performance.

· Be a confident decision maker able to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

· Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

· Pay close attention to detail, be systematic and very well organised.

· Be able to analysis key data and use to drive improvement in stock availability and processes and present key data and outcomes to key stakeholders.

· Have excellent presentation & communication skills.

· 2years minimum planning experience.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Have an eye for detail and an ability to see the broader picture, meet challenges with enthusiasm, and welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively across departments.

· Team Player.

 

Desirable;

· Educated to degree level, ideally in a supply chain, or business discipline.

· Experience of working with ERP / MRP systems (AX2012 highly desirable) in a demand planning, production planning or supply chain environment.

· Experience of sales & operations planning process.

· Strong project management and presentation skills.

· Have knowledge of sales and operations planning processes
